What is Yacht Rock?
It’s a sublist of soft rock hits from the mid 70s to the early 80s that generally features elements of smooth soul, smooth jazz, R & B, funk, rock and disco. It’s smooth and light, yet fun and tasty. Some go as far as to call it cheesy, and we’re good with that. Powered by the likes of Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross and ONJ, you’d enjoy these songs that make you feel like you’re on a boat or a beach. Not every soft rock hit qualifies as “official” yacht rock; but don’t worry, we’ve been known to break a rule or two.
